Communications Financial Package Effective October 1, 2007 Compensation figures are based upon potential average earnings for employment.
Austin/Travis County EMS will consider up to six years of applicable experience for Communications Medics when determining compensations. Note. The base salary does not include overtime for productive hours worked beyond 40 hours in a one-week pay cycle. The complete pay range for the Communications Medic position starts at $37,939.20 and ends with a maximum of $63,731.20. As indicated above, the City of Austin will recognize up to six years of experience for purposes of determining compensation for entry Communications Medics. Overtime opportunities vary according to weekly coverage requirements and are paid at a rate of 1.5 times the hourly rate after 40 hours. The EMS Department participates in Skill Based Pay. Eligible employees receive compensation in the form of a stipend for specific approved skills, which add value to a job. (Example: Communications Training Officer). Skill blocks range in annual compensation from $1196 to $4200.
